Integration
easyCMDB includes an integration layer offering multiple interfaces for communication with external systems. Our SOAP-based web service exposes methods for creating and synchronising data for all CI types as well as incident and change records.
Our flexible CSV import facility can take text input in a variety of formats for updating and merging records in the CMDB and optionally cross-reference with Change Requests to detect unauthorised changes. The CSV import function is also available as a web service meaning regular automated imports are available.
We use Perl for scripting the client-side calls to easyCMDB, which means you can place scripts anywhere on your network to update the CMDB remotely with data relevant to your requirements. A number of example Perl scripts are available for doing things like creating recurring Change Requests, Querying CI data and linking CIs.
Our LDAP integration enables you to load and synchronise users as People CIs from your enterprise directory (Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, Sun Directory and others) and authenticate to easyCMDB using LAN passwords.
In addition to Perl we provide VB scripts for conducting WMI discovery on Windows platforms. This can be used with our web service to update software inventories in the CMDB and identify unauthorised software installations.
If you haven't the resource or expertise in-house to write scripts for interfacing to easyCMDB we can do it for you. We've already helped a number of customers integrate their existing Service Desk or Network Management product with easyCMDB including Request Tracker®, Tivoli Netcool®, OpenNMS® and Nagios®.
Our Relationship Diagrams produce clickable drawings you can use to browse CI relationships. An upcoming version will include integration to Cmap Tools® so our diagrams can be exported and manipulated in its editor.
Soon you'll be able to selectively extract information from easyCMDB and generate Wiki pages so that your IT information is easily accessible, saving hours of documentation effort.
